Mission Impossible 4... its not a movie review

I must agree!!! Yes I must agree that we Indians are really hot targets for marketers, provided others should know how to market their product well. So why the hell am I writing about marketing in a review of any movie...  Ok let me come to the point. Mission Impossible is seriously a big name. All the movies have something hatke in it. Be it story line ( which is always foolish and seemed to be copied from any old Indian bolly flick), the high speed action ( yes it is at least better than any other flicks) or different looks of Tom Cruise ( no need to tell why girls go gaga over his look). These movies have something for you.
Now coming back to MI4, the official name of this movie is Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol, where Ghost Protocol is a protocol which disown the IMF team headed by Ethan Hunt ( Aka Tom Cruise). This movie has every masala which is promised by any MI movie. Be it action, no story line, great looks or travelling of team from here and there.
Here team starts from Moscow to Dubai to apun ka Mumbai (???). I must admit the scenes showing Moscow’s Kremlin and Dubai’s Burj Khalifa are one of the best action sequences shown in any movie. Seriously doing stunt at 100+th floor of BurjKhalifa is not at all easy and that itself shows the spirit of Mission Impossible. I mean impossible to do. These scenes were shot using Imax cameras and seriously you are insulting director if you are not seeing this movie at Imax halls (Mumbai is better in this case, at least Mumbai has one Imax hall. The condition of that IMAX hall is another topic to discuss; i mean that was filthiest hall I have ever seen). Seriously viewer too forget to breathe for a moment when Tom Cruise falls from top floor of Burj Kalifa, thats the beauty of action of Mission Impossible).
Now coming to Mumbai, Whew, Better I should restrict myself with limited words. I mean WTF!!! You are showing Mumbai on screen but hardly a 1-2 scenes got shot at Mumbai. Movie shows that actor fled away in his “concept” car from Mumbai Hotel, hardly after 1-2 seconds you can see Kannada language written everywhere. And Since when SUN TV ( Tamil Channel of Karunanidhi family) has their broadcasting office in Mumbai. The funniest part shown was they covered about 6-7 miles in 5 minutes thats too on Mumbai Street. You must be kidding!!! Even if streets are empty and you are ready to drive as fast as possible you cant reach to destination in this given time even in your concept car.
Now coming back to the important marketing part of movie, Pick any Indian actor who is ready to dance naked just to be  part of any such great holly flick. Promote it in India as that actor is the main lead of movie and Tom Cruise is just assisting him. Hollywood directors have used this tactic several time earlier also like casting Mallika Sherawat in “The Myth” only for a 10 minute “meaty” show and promoted her as real star of movie elsewhere. She was even welcomed along with Jacky Chain at every premiere of movie. Same goes with Aishwarya, gulshan grover movies ( did they ever get promoted in India ).
Well in MI4, Director casted Anil Kapoor after seeing his work in SLumdog Millionaire and TV series 24. So they casted Anil Kapoor for really important role ( reaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyy). I mean if editor of the movie accidently deleted his role from the movie, nothing would happen with story line. His role is hardly for 3-4 minutes, showing him as billionaire ( he never got chance t be shown as billionaire in any Indian movie. So SAD!!!!!!!!!) and dancing on the tune of firang actress and to say "creamy lines" like " Indian MENS are hot" ( one of my friend suggested me to add this line too in blog ) . In short each and everyone was actually laughing on his “great role” in movie. His role was like a loo break in a movie. I mean if a person goes to loo for 3-4 minute in movie, there is high chance that he would miss Anil’s presence in movie. But thanks to great marketing guys they promoted Anil Kapoor as one of the lead actor in movie  in India. Even Posters released in India showed AK in it.
Well all in all movie is good for action scenes. The only thing which I missed in this movie is use of MASKS. Damn use of masks in MI movies always makes me laugh. I seriously like this movie minus India part of it and expecting MI5 to be more of good action scene and at least some creamy role to AK. Just kidding.

want to read your own biography, read your old mails.

Want to know yourself better? There is a very simple exercise if you want to know yourself better. Just check back your archive e-mails. Earlier in the era of simple letters people used to keep all the record of those letters and used to read it whenever it was possible for them. But the time has changed and people have got other important responsibilities but still I found it is the best effective tool.
It is just like reading your own biography written by you and your pals. You come to know how you had reacted on certain condition, what was your mind setup at some particular time.
Today I was shocked to see that 91% of total space available on gmail was full. So I did vehla-panti wala kaam and thought to delete my earlier mails. That gave me chance to read my self over the last 3-4 years. I am using my ashish21185@gmail.com account since November 2007.
I came to know how I became mad at our final year project presentation at my engineering college. I rejoyed the feeling of my first placement again.  I relived the moments of my last few months of my engineering days.  I came to know how I acted when I got my first offer letter from ICICI bank.
I read my mail to my father on this occasion. It was amazing. As said by Late Steve Jobs “you cannot connect dots by looking forward but you can connect the dots by looking backward”.
Then I read how I made biggest mistake of my life and flunked in 2nd last exam of my engineering. Though it was always in my memory but through that mail I came to know how each and everyone tried to teach something to me.
Then I read how I wrote “I-Miss-You” mails to my engineering friends, yes life could never be like this without them. Whoever be I am today is not because of my school friends or other friends but because of my engineering friends, who always came up with some solution to life, who always bring smile on my face with their achievements.
I read my feelings when I got joining-letter of ICICI at my home town. Yes I was too happy at that time. At last something good came in my way. Then further mail told me how I became “Ashish Sir” from Ashish.  Some mails covered some “abhdra bhasha” , no need to tell these mails were from my bosses .
Then I came to know how I left ICICI bank and started thinking for CAT examination. That was a tough decision but It was clear from my mails that it was the need of that time.
Some mails also covered brief introduction of devil effects of word Recession, which was there snatching everyone’s peace of mind in that era. How I consoled some of friends at that time.
Then I read how some of my friends like Taresh bhaiya took care of my motivation part and always tried to motivate me either by some youtube video link or by some lengthy mails.
Then came the era of disaster of entrance exams, yes I was in desperate condition to see some good news. And it came in the form of my sister’s engagement. Next coming mails covered how initially I communicated with my Jija and his family. Everything was going in my favour but still failures in entrance exams shocked me.
To prove my self again How I took decision of writing GRE exams without even telling it to my family. How some of my friends (Rahul Gaba , my ex room mate) actually helped me at that time. He was just one call away though that call was ISD one and I was paying heavily for it.  Then other mails showed how I shared my moment of success with everyone when I got decent marks in GRE. Which was followed by mails which showed how I taught some GRE student for Quant section. It sounds funny but I did it in reality.
Next coming mails showed my mood when I cancelled my abroad plan and thought of doing masters from India itself because of some reasons. Remaining mails are of my journey of ADMI till date, which I will cover in some other blog probably after 1-2 years.
But reading previous mails showed me myself better. There were moments of proud, there were moments of sorrow but important thing was how I was dealing with those problems. As rightly said by someone “First step of management starts from you”. Today I am feeling much better and lighter in thoughts. Thanks to Gmail for notifying me space issue.
